![]() ![]() ![]() That is never what you want with QuickBooks files. DropBox is doing things to sync the file - who knows what? We did test accessing a file on DropBox from two different locations simultaneously and that resulted in DropBox, on its own, creating a copy of the file for the second user to hit it, and giving the second user access to this copy. In general I don't recommend having your QuickBooks company file in DropBox. That sounds really odd but I guess it is a possibility. But there may be something that DropBox is doing to the write access that is causing the QuickBooks "create a migrated admin" code to run. And that code is only supposed to be run in the circumstances described in the tech support article INF 12884 (linked below). Nothing could add a migration password on its own - only the QuickBooks code can do that. ![]()
